Born in South Africa (of Dutch decent) in 1965, and living in the Middle East for the past ten years, Nick (aka VatiKaki) is the author of 'Essentials of Digital Photography' and owner of various stock portfolios totalling almost 2000 stock images that are in use all over the world. Images include a wide variety of segments including sport, wildlife, studio portraits, families, weddings and products. Nick started with photography as a young boy, helping his father in the darkroom to develop black & white photos in the 1970’s. He started shooting digital in 1999 with a 0.3MP camera, and currently uses a 12 MP Nikon D3 with a Nikon D300s as backup. Lenses include the professional range from Nikon including the legendary 14-24mm f/2.8, the 24-70mm f/2.8 and the 70-200mm f/2.8, with a variety of telephoto zoom, macro, and prime lenses. Besides various external strobes including the latest SB900, SB800 and SB600, Nick has a fully equipped studio.
